Sheryl’s academic journey began at the University of Manchester in 2002, where she earned her law degree. Driven by a passion for law, she completed the Bar Vocational Course at Multimedia Manchester University, paving the way for her admission to the English Bar in 2006 as a Barrister.
Her professional career commenced at Shook Lin & Bok, one of the largest law firms in Malaysia and Singapore. Here, Sheryl gained comprehensive experience in diverse legal fields, including banking, corporate affairs, and real estate transactions. Her role involved handling substantial real estate sales and property-related financing, providing her with a solid foundation in corporate and real estate law.
In 2010, Sheryl expanded her horizons by joining Drew & Napier LLC, a leading Singaporean law firm, as a foreign lawyer. Successfully navigating the Singapore Bar Examination, she was admitted to the Singapore Bar the same year. At Drew & Napier, Sheryl focused on corporate mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters, and commercial transactions, offering invaluable guidance to both local and international clients.
Building on her rich experience, Sheryl transitioned to an in-house role as Senior Legal Counsel with UIC Limited, a publicly listed real estate developer in Singapore. In this capacity, she managed a wide range of legal responsibilities, including property development, investment strategies, compliance with Singapore Stock Exchange regulations, corporate secretarial duties, and tenancy transactions in both Singapore and China.

Singapore Transactions:
• Acquisition of Manufacturing Companies: Represented a Japanese multinational in acquiring manufacturing companies across Malaysia, Thailand, China, and Vietnam. She managed due diligence, coordinated with local counsel, and drafted essential transaction documents.
• Joint Venture for Coffeehouse Chain: Acted as transaction solicitor for a joint venture to operate a branded coffeehouse chain in Southeast Asia, drafting joint venture and franchise agreements.
• Travel Decentralized Application (DApp) Partnership: Facilitated an area partner agreement for a Singapore-based developer’s DApp, granting a China-based distributor rights to promote and market the application.
• Marine and Offshore Industry Acquisition: Served as vendors’ counsel in a S$44 million acquisition of a marine and offshore company with operations in Singapore, Indonesia, and PRC.
Malaysia Transactions:
